The Joyce Theater Foundation has announced the long-awaited return of Pacific Northwest Ballet, the company’s first full NYC season in six years. Presenting two mixed-bill programs, the company will play Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, kicking-off with a special gala performance on June 22 followed by two repertory programs through June 26.

The Joyce Theater Foundation will welcome the return of L.A. Dance Project in a two-week season celebrating female choreographers. Consisting of two programs featuring four New York premieres, the season will play The Joyce Theater from May 3-15.

The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) welcomes the return of Stephen Petronio Company to the New York stage. The triple bill, featuring a world premiere collaboration with Monstah Black and the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, will play The Joyce Theater from May 17-22. Tickets, ranging in price from $10-$55, can be purchased at www.Joyce.org, or by calling JoyceCharge at 212-242-0800.  Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) will come to the Joyce Theater June 14-19, 2022, offering audiences a unique series of programs that showcase early works choreographed by Paul Taylor including Tracer, Fibers and Aureole, along with a World Premiere by Michelle Manzanales and the New York Premiere of A Call for Softer Landings by Peter Chu, both of which were commissioned by PTDC. Nearly two dozen companies and dance creators will bring their unparalleled creativity and astounding artistic innovation to the iconic, intimate home for dance in New York City.

Raised in Israel, Danielle Agami choreographs movements that seem, well, impossible. The founder and artistic director of the renowned Los Angeles–based Ate9 modern dance company, Agami will join moderator and award-winning author Lisa Rosenbaum for an intimate conversation about her vision on Sunday, December 12, 10:00am PT/1:00pm ET.

From October 21st to 23rd at the Vancouver Playhouse, DanceHouse will present Rubberband’s EVER SO SLIGHTLY. Rubberband is a Montreal-based dance company and this is their first major work to feature their entire 10-artist lineup.

The season includes Well Made @ The Playground – a mini-season of new theatre, opera, and contemporary dance from developing artists – and Ida Rubinstein: The Final Act, a play with music and dance that chronicles the untold story of dance’s Forgotten Diva. 

Ballet Tech, which each year introduces hundreds of New York City public school children to the beauty and rigor of classical dance, today announced Dionne D. Figgins as its new Artistic Director. Figgins begins leading the organization on August 1, in time for the return of school in fall.

Ballet Tech’s Kids Dance has been dancing up a storm for years, with annual seasons at the Joyce. This digital program features three quintessential works by Eliot Feld: A Stair Dance (2004) – originally choreographed for adults, Dotty Polkas (2008), and Hello Fancy (1992) – his first ballet for children. Rounding out the digital program, a clip of the Hello Fancy premiere will be introduced by two dancers from the original cast, as well as excerpts of students performing A Stair Dance in the wild.

New York City Ballet today announced that it will be unable to perform at the David H. Koch Theater during the winter and spring of 2021 due to continuing health concerns and mandatory New York State and New York City regulations prohibiting large-scale, live indoor gatherings which are required for both NYCB's rehearsals and performances.

Battery Dance announces $1 virtual classes, continuing the tradition of offering 'free' workshops as part of the Battery Dance Festival. There will be nine diverse workshops taught by choreographers from around the world over Zoom. The hour-long classes will run August 14-22, 2020, beginning at 10am EDT each day.
