Duke Ellington Center for the Arts Presents Jazz Showcases, Now thru 8/17

The Duke Ellington Center of the Arts (DECFA) will present 'Ellington, New York and the Essence of Jazz,' a discussion led by composer and jazz scholar Edward Green tonight, July 31 at 6pm, and 'Summer Serenade with Bobby Sanabria,' a concert by Sanabria on August 17 at 2:30pm.

Across the globe the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth will be commemorated in many ways. In Paris a week-long conference will occur. In London anew indoor Jacobean theatre within the complex of Shakespeare's Globe opens. And here in New York the Richmond County Orchestra (RCO) marks its 15th season by celebrating the anniversary with a Happy Birthday Bill performance today, April 26 at The Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.
