Coming up at 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is the "54 Piano Bar," a new vocal competition - 'The Callback," and more, including: stage and television star Laura Benanti, High Fidelity in Concert, WGBO Jazz Series: Karrin Allyson Quartet, Tony winner Frances Ruffelle, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band, Sondheim Unplugged and Simply Streisand. Erika Banks and More Join OMNI Ensemble's 30th Anniversary Concerts, 4/18 & 20

The OMNI Ensemble will conclude its 30th season of concerts in the recital hall at the Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Staten Island, 2800 Victory Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, today, April 18th at 3:00 pm and at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music on Saturday evening, April 20, 2013 at 8:00 pm. Music Director/Flutist David Wechsler will be joined by guest artists Erika Banks, vocal, Jim Ponzi, guitar, Art Bailey, keyboards, Jennifer Vincent, bass, and Dave Forman, drums. (more...)

16th Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County Gala Raises $102,000

On Saturday, March 23, over 500 business and arts leaders attended the Arts Council's 16th Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County Gala at Howard Community College's Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center in Columbia. This year's annual benefit gala raised $102,000, with an additional $110,000 in donated goods and services in support of the arts in Howard County. Since 1998, over $1 million has been raised through Celebration of the Arts! (more...)

STAGE TUBE: Frances Ruffelle and More Talk PIAF at the Curve

Following the overwhelming audience response and unprecedented ticket demand for the recently opened production of PIAF, Curve has announced additional performance dates from 3 - 6 April 2013. The production currently showing in Curve's Studio will be transferred into the larger Theatre space, with Frances Ruffelle continuing in the title role as the legendary French chanteuse, Edith Piaf. Planning is also underway for a national tour of the production, following the performances at Curve; full details to be confirmed at a later date.
