TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the regional premiere of SOMEWHERE, a captivating new play told in exuberant dance as well as drama by playwright Matthew Lopez (The Whipping Man), and featuring Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez (Broadway's A Chorus Line). This compelling tale of a 1960s Puerto Rican family dreaming and dancing its way toward show business will be helmed by director Giovanna Sardelli. SOMEWHERE plays now through February 10, 2013 (press opening January 19) at TheatreWorks at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. BWW Reviews: A CHORUS LINE is Still a Hit, Despite Uneven Casting

A Chorus Line is the 1975 Broadway musical that gives audiences an inside look at what it's like to be a dancer. The action of the play takes place at a single audition in which 17 dancers all vie for a spot in a new Broadway show. Throughout the course of the evening we learn about the dancers; their personalities, their pasts, and most importantly what has shaped them into the performers they are today. When A Chorus Line opened in 1975 it was met with an outpouring of positive press, and wound up taking home 9 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for drama. This show has it all; an exciting score, explosive dancing, and a ton of heart. It's no wonder that it ran in NYC for a total of 6,137 performances (unprecedented at that time), and is beloved and highly recognized by millions. (more...)

The Spoon River Anthology travels to Brooklyn where it will receive an all-new production, conceived & directed Jimmy Maize, with music by Eli Zoller, choreography by Jon Cooper & Marine Sialelli, and music direction by Ethan Wagner, and featuring a cast of one-hundred performers, The limited engagement begins performances tonight, April 24 and will continue through this Saturday, April 28 at the Invisible Dog Art Center (51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn).
