CENTERSTAGE Announces Honorees for 27th Annual Young Playwrights Festival by BWW News Desk - Apr 26, 2013
CENTERSTAGE has announced the honorees for this years' Young Playwrights Festival, an annual competition that welcomes student playwrights around the state to submit their original works. This year, more than 400 Maryland students in grades K-12 submitted plays. The honored plays that were selected will be showcased with workshops, in-school performances, and select pieces will be staged at CENTERSTAGE at the annual Young Playwrights Festival performance at CENTERSTAGE on Monday, May 6, at 7 pm. CENTERSTAGE's Upcoming Raisin Cycle Honored with NEA Grant and Edgerton Award by BWW News Desk - Dec 03, 2012
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Rocco Landesman announced Wednesday that CENTERSTAGE is one of 832 non-profit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant for its Spring 2013 Raisin Cycle. The announcement comes on the heels of CENTERSTAGE Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah's own Beneatha's Place, penned for the Cycle, receiving the Edgerton New American Play Award. (more...)

PAGLIACCI, THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO & More Set for Austin Lyric Opera's 26th Season by BWW News Desk - Nov 10, 2012
Austin Lyric Opera (ALO) has announced the lineup of its 26th season (2012-2013). The season kicks off in November 2012 with Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, followed by Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro in January and February 2013. The season concludes with a new production of Gounod's Faust in April 2013. Current subscribers can renew their season tickets starting Monday, January 16. (more...)

CENTERSTAGE's historic 50th Anniversary Season officially kicks off with AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, directed by Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah, in a landmark production that takes Arthur Miller's translation of Ibsen's classic and uses it to examine the contemporary media landscape. The hit Broadway comedy, 'Boeing-Boeing' is coming in for a landing at the Norris Theatre in Rolling Hills Estates, for nine performances, January 27 through February 12.
