Sundance Institute Selects 13 Projects for Directors and Screenwriters Labs, June 2013

Sundance Institute today announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from May 27 through June 27. Under the leadership of Michelle Satter, Founding Director of the Institute's Feature Film Program, and the artistic direction of Gyula Gazdag, the Fellows selected for this year's program include emerging filmmakers and projects from the United States, Europe, Mexico, Peru and Somalia. La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for His Girl Friday, adapted by John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation, House of Blue Leaves) from the Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur play The Front Page and the Columbia Pictures film His Girl Friday. Directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley (Glengarry Glen Ross, Memphis), the production will kick off the 2013/2014 season, running May 28 - June 30 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre. Britman Theatre Company to Present I AM MY OWN WIFE, 5/23-26

For the first in New York time since its Tony Award-winning Broadway production in 2003, I Am My Own Wife by Doug Wright will be performed at The Studio Theatre on Theatre Row for four performances from May 23-26, 2013. Jen Forcino directs Scott Voloshin in a solo performance, portraying 30 distinct characters in this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama.
