STINKYKIDS-THE-MUSICAL-MOVES-TO-THEATRE-80-20010101 The award-winning Vital Theatre Company announces the extension of STINKYKIDS, THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by Sammy Buck, music by Daniel S. Acquisto with direction by Tim Drucker, based on the books by Britt Menzies. Performances will be May 12th, 19th and 26th at 1pm at Theatre 80. Texas' Alley Theatre is currently presenting a revised version of production of The Toxic Avenger starring Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis, and featuring several new songs and revised book by the Tony Award-winning creative team of Memphis, Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro. John Rando (Tony Winner for Urinetown) returns to the Alley to reinvent his hilarious 2009 Off-Broadway staging of The Toxic Avenger, and according to an interview with chron.com, he's hoping to squeeze the new version of the show into the 2012 Broadway season before the dealine for this year's Tony Awards. On November 17, Macy's Herald Square kicked-off the season with a heavenly evening of holiday magic at the annual Christmas window unveiling on Broadway Boulevard. The event featured an appearance by special guest, Whoopi Goldberg, along with the divine cast members of the hit Broadway musical, Sister Act, including Tony Award® nominee, Patina Miller. Santa Claus also made an appearance and led the countdown to flip the switch and unveil the 2011 Christmas Windows, this year titled "Make-A-Wish." (more...)
