The stars were shining, including Chita Rivera, Marge Champion, Stephen Schwartz and more, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Wednesday evening when Queens Theatre hosted its 2012 Gala Fundraiser, a star-studded celebration of the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE Jack Cole PROJECT, a new musical homage to legendary stage and screen choreographer Jack Cole. The event raised more than $150,000 for the theatre and its programs, including its educational and outreach programs that bring theatre and the arts to public school students. Continuing its six year reign as the most popular and award-winning supper club of its kind in the greater Los Angeles area, dedicated to presenting the best of Broadway performers and nightclub artists dedicated to the Great American Songbook, Sterling’s Upstairs had its Grand Opening Sunday, April 1st at The Federal Bar and Restaurant in North Hollywood’s trendy NoHo Arts District. Sterling’s presented Bruce Kimmel’s Kritzerland production of Take Me Along: The Songs of Bob Merrill as its premiere offering. The six member cast starred musical theatre stars Julie Garnyé and Juliana Hansen, Broadway’s Melody Hollis and Kristofer McNeely, and musical theatre star Jeffrey Christopher Todd, with Special Guest... Broadway, film, TV, concert and recording star Lainie Kazan. Christy Crowel served as the evening’s Musical Director, with Shelly Markham serving as Musical Director for Lainie Kazan. Tony Award winning triple threat Donna McKechnie will always be remembered as Cassie in A Chorus Line, and of course for her solo within it "The Music and the Mirror". This vet of Broadway, TV and film is currently teaching a musical comedy class at HB Studio in New York and in our chat offers some choice anecdotes from her career. Voices in Unity, the 70 member choir of Unity of New York, with guests Spiritus vocal ensemble, Broadway's Rosena Hill, award-winning cabaret vocalist Marieann Meringolo, spoken word artist GhaÂ’il Rhodes Benjamin and others, will be in concert Celebrating Miracles at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street on Monday, April 23rd, 2012 at 7:30 PM. Voices in Unity share their musical diversity with selections ranging from Gospel to Broadway and Pop to Classical. The concert is put together by Music Director Britt Hall, who creates repertoire, dynamic medleys and selects guest artists to perform with the choir. ( more...)

After reigning since 2006 as the most critically acclaimed, award-winning supper club of its kind in the greater Los Angeles area, SterlingÂ’s Upstairs at VitelloÂ’s will close its doors in Studio City, CA on Sunday, March 18 following its final show headlined by Reba Buhr, co-star of DisneyÂ’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Miss Buhr is also a host for the Disney ChannelÂ’s popular 365 television series. The announcement became official by producer Michael Sterling.

Broadway star and legendary entertainer Donna McKechnie will return to TheatreZone in Naples, cast as Marmee in Little Women: The Broadway Musical. Joining McKechnie in the production will be Megan Yelaney, Molly Ann Ross, Megan Jimenez and Julie Woods-Robinson as Jo, Amy, Meg, and Beth respectively. The production opens tonight, March 8 and runs through March 18.
