Ballet Tech has announced Ballet Tech Across New York, a new initiative providing dance enrichment to elementary schools across New York City.

Works & Process presents Dance Theatre of Harlem Diaspora with Robert Garland, Dionne Figgins, Alicia Graf Mack, Tai Jimenez, and Melanie Person on Sunday & Monday, October 29 & 30, 2023 at 7:30 pm at the Solomon R. Championing creative process from studio to stage, Works & Process amplifies support for performing artists and their artistic process, and simultaneously provides the public with behind-the-scenes access to new works, fostering greater understanding and appreciation.

Joining KTP on the final night of his summer residency are Tony Nominee Daniel J. Watts (Tina, Hamilton, After Midnight); Aisha Jackson (Once Upon a One More Time, Paradise Square, Frozen); and soul singer/songwriter Crystal Monee Hall (Rent).

The New York Dance and Performance Awards, the Bessies, has announced the 2023 award recipients at the 39th Bessie Awards Ceremony. The Illustrious Blacks hosted this year's celebratory event, which was held at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park as part of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City. The New York Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, announce the lineup of special guests for the 39th Bessie Awards Ceremony. Acclaimed queer pop duo The Illustrious Blacks (Manchildblack x Monstah Black) will host this year’s ceremony, which will be held on Friday, August 4, at 7:30pm, at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park as part of Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City.

Joining Parker in song for the July 31st concert will be  the illustrious Sis Thee Doll (Oklahoma, American Horror Story) and soul stirring  Jazz vocalist and composer Vanisha Gould. Each month, Parker will present a new set list highlighting traditional blues music made famous by the likes of Dinah Washington and Nina Simone, as well as uniquely reworked arrangements of songs from today’s Top 100.

Governmental funding shifts continue around the globe as governments reveal their latest budget proposals - often with some form of a decrease of support for the creative economy as these countries wind down the support they offered at the height of the pandemic.

This time of year, most know the most important people in the industry are sadly not anyone putting on a show, but rather the Tony nominators. Usually, this is the time that many selected nominators start dropping out, typically because of involvement in an eligible production or failure to see all eligible productions. This season, we’ve so far had very few recusals, so as of now there is a pretty full slate.
