Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) presents their 16th season featuring two new works and one musical revival, which both tackle social issues including homelessness, immigration and race relations. 'We have a thrilling line up as we enter our 16th season at Astoria Performing Arts Center, and all of the work shares the resonant theme of home.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, presents ARCHETYPE, a collection of six new mini-musicals, the culminating production of Prospect's 2016 Musical Theater Lab (the company's 10th lab production). ARCHETYPE will play from July 27 - 31 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street @ 1st Ave., NYC). The Award-Winning Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) is pleased to announce the talented group of actors who will bring to life ASTORIA STORIES, directed by Artistic Director Dev Bondarin. ASTORIA STORIES is a collaborative production of plays and musicals celebrating the area of Queens that APAC calls home. The limited engagement will be at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd), in Astoria, Queens. (*Sunday February 21st @ 7:30pm performance will be at Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Avenue.) Performances begin Friday, February19 and continue through Saturday, February27.

Sarah Megan Thomas, the star of the films Backwards with James Van Der Beek, and Equity with James Purefoy, will appear with Bill Connington, who stars in the recently released film Zombie, based on the novella by Joyce Carol Oates--in a staged reading of Private Lives by theatrical legend Noel Coward. The glittering white and gold-gilded ballroom of a private Eastside club will act as the backdrop for Coward's most beloved play. The evening is produced by Razors Edge Productions.

The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC), recipient of the 2012 Caffe Cino Fellowship Award from the Innovative Theatre Foundation, is pleased to announce their 15th season which will include a world premiere play by Cheryl L. Prospect Theater Company has announced the cast of By The Numbers, a part of the company's new IGNITE Series at The Times Center, featuring today's new voices shaping the future of musical theater. This one-night-only concert event will be Saturday, June 27th at 8pm.  The evening features the world premiere performance of 12 'micro-musicals' created in Prospect's 2015 Musical Theater Lab.  Each of these original, hot-off-the-presses musical theater shorts runs under seven minutes, and has been inspired by a number -- one through twelve -- creating a song cycle collectively written over the lab's month-long time span by participating composers & lyricists.
