Last night, March 28, MCC opened The Other Place, starring Laurie Metcalf. In The Other Place, just as Juliana Smithton's (Metcalf) research leads to a potential breakthrough in neurological medicine, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. Dennis Boutsikaris is set for the L.A. Theatre Works production of Neil Simon's California Suite. Other members of the cast include Bruce Davison, Marsha Mason and Amy Pietz. The five performances, are a part of their 'The Play's The Thing' series, and will be recorded in front of a live audience to air on LATW's syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org. The production is to be directed by Gwenn Victor and produced by Susan Albert Loewenberg. (more...)

Brighton Beach Memoirs opened Sunday, October 25th at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street).
