In honor of comedy legend Carl Reiner's 75 years in the business, Center Theatre Group presented a staged reading of "Enter Laughing, The Musical," which is inspired by Reiner's experiences as a young man struggling to break into theatre in New York. The one night only event directed by Stuart Ross ("Forever Plaid"), was performed at the Mark Taper Forum on Monday, January 28, 2013. Box office receipts were $290,000 and proceeds from this special event benefit CTG programs that support emerging artists.

Forty-Seven Percent Records, a division of Happy Panda Productions, have released a music video entitled 'Black Romney: Binders Full O Bitches' in which "Black Romney", a rapper version of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, expresses his disinterest in a variety of human beings, such as the unemployed, homosexuals, single mothers, and many others. Created, written and directed by Asian-American actress and comedienne Deborah S. Craig (CW's "Hart of Dixie") and starring Burl Moseley, this piece of political satire also features cameos by Broadway performers Jared Gertner (currently starring in the national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON), Haviland Stillwell and Erin Quill. Musical Mondays Los Angeles (Ryan O'Connor and Scott Nevins, Co-Producers/Hosts) have announced that in anticipation of Liza Minnelli's upcoming concert at The Hollywood Bowl, they will present their first ever LIZA NIGHT. Featuring performances by Tony Award Winner Daisy Eagan (Broadway's Secret Garden, Les Miserables, TV's The It Factor), Tony Award Nominee Valarie Pettiford (Broadway's Fosse, TV's Half & Half, Film Jumping the Broom), Tom Lowe (TV's American Idol & Real Life: The Musical on OWN), Deborah S. Craig (Broadway's 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee & TV's Hart of Dixie), Julie Garnye (Broadway Cares' HAIR in Concert, Les Miserables), Stephanie Renee Wall (West Coast Ensemble's Gypsy), Sarah Wolter (Fred for Nothing), as well as additional performers TBA, will present an evening of songs made famous by Minnelli. Taiwanese-American basketball star and New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has breathed new life into the Asian male sex symbol, providing the inspiration for Comediva's latest short, 'The Jeremy Lin Phenomenon.' SPELLING BEE Star to Portray First Southern Asian-American on TV in HART OF DIXIE

The CW's "Hart of Dixie" returns this Monday after a six-week hiatus, and the latest episode "Heart to Hart" offers a whole new reason for fans to be excited. "Heart to Hart" draws particular focus to Korean-American actress Deborah S. Craig, whose outrageously funny performance as "Shelley Ng" provides the comedic relief to the tension surrounding "Zoe" (Rachel Bilson) and her father (Gary Cole). Though Craig has been seen before playing the quirky waitress that works in the Rammer Jammer, this episode really showcases Ms. Craig's landmark portrayal of TV's first Asian-American from the South. With a book by Darren Stein (writer and director of the film) and a score by Jeffrey Thomson and Jordan Mann (Jonathan Larson award winners), the cast includes Diana DeGarmo (Hair, Hairspray), Joanna Glushak (Les Miserables, Urinetown), Van Hughes (American Idiot, 9 to 5, Hairspray), Tracy McDowell (Rent), Ryah Nixon, Marty Thomas (Wicked, Xanadu) and Libby Winters (American Idiot).
