The York Theatre Company concludes the Winter 2013 Musicals in Mufti Series with the 1955 musical gem, Silk Stockings that has book by George S. Kaufman, Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows and music & lyrics by Cole Porter. Directed by Stuart Ross, and with music direction by David Snyder, the production will feature Erin Davie, Ben Davis, Erick Devine, Erica Dorfler, David Garrison, Leah Hocking, Andrew Kluger, Mark Price, Kilty Reidy, Danny Rutigliano, Alet Taylor, and Stephen Wallem. The York Theatre Company has announced that it will conclude the Winter 2013 Musicals in Mufti Series with the 1955 musical Silk Stockings that has book by George S. Kaufman, Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows, and music and lyrics by Cole Porter. Directed by Stuart Ross, and with music direction by David Snyder, the production will feature Erin Davie, Ben Davis, Erick Devine, Erica Dorfler, David Garrison, Leah Hocking, Andrew Kluger, Mark Price, Kilty Reidy, Danny Rutigliano, Alet Taylor, and Stephen Wallem. David Snider to Join Arena Stage as Director of Artistic Programming July 2012

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater's Artistic Director Molly Smith has announced that this July 2012 D.C.-area arts manager and artist David Snider will become the company's Director of Artistic Programming. Snider will be leaving Young Playwrights' Theater (YPT), where he has served since 2005 as producing artistic director and CEO, to bring his multi-faceted, award-winning talents to the artistic team of Arena Stage. Scott Evan Davis to Appear with Special Guests for One-Night Only Performance, 3/14

Composer/lyricist Scott Evan Davis will appear with special guests for one show only at Don't Tell Mama on March 14 at 8pm. Davis will present the music from his recently released debut recording - Cautiously Optimistic: The Music of Scott Evan Davis (Sonic Landscapes Music). In addition to all the music from his recording, Davis will introduce the opening number from an original, commissioned musical he's writing for PS 94's autistic children's program. The song is titled "If the World Only Knew." (more...)
