Labyrinth Theater Company's CELEBRITY CHARADES Delayed by BWW News Desk - Nov 02, 2012
Labyrinth Theater Company (Co-Artistic Directors Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O'Donnell, Yul Vazquez and Managing Director, Danny Feldman), the award-winning, downtown ensemble, announced today its annual signature benefit Celebrity Charades 2012 will be postponed due the lingering effects of Hurricane Sandy. A new date has not yet been selected but is expected to be announced in the coming days. Labyrinth Theater Company's annual star-studded fundraising event remains one of the most popular 'happenings' of the year in New York City and was originally scheduled for Monday, November 5th at Capitale. BWW Interviews: Chatting with DETROIT's Darren Pettie by Joseph F. Panarello - Oct 09, 2012
Anyone who follows the theater scene in New York realizes that hardly a year goes by when actor Darren Pettie isn't appearing on Broadway, Off Broadway or regional theater. He's also been seen on television in "Mad Men", "Pan Am", "Castle", "Gossip Girl", "Brothers and Sisters" and a host of other shows. Not only is he one of New York's busiest actors, he's one of its finest, too. Take, for example, his performance two seasons ago in THE MILK TRAIN DOESN'T STOP HERE ANYMORE. As the enigmatic Christopher Flanders, Pettie was required to utter the single syllable word "Boom" to emulate the crashing of the waves upon the rocks surrounding Italy's Divina Costiera. Other actors in the role have faltered here, but Pettie imbued the line with authority and conviction that were never apparent in previous incarnations of the work. "Thanks," responds the actor via telephone. "There were some nights that I was very self conscious about that line." (more...)

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, October 3, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the New York premiere of THE WHALE, a new play by Obie Award winner Samuel D. Hunter (A Bright New Boise), directed by Davis McCallum (February House, A Bright New Boise, the upcoming Water By the Spoonful at Second Stage). Due to the overwhelming response to Playwrights Horizons' 2012/2013 season, all productions are now playing longer runs to accommodate the larger subscription base. GENERAL HOSPITAL's John Ingle Passes Away by TV News Desk - Sep 17, 2012
John Ingle, best known for the role of patriarch Edward Quartermaine on ABC's "General Hospital," died surrounded by his family in California on Sunday, September 16 after a courageous battle with cancer. His beloved wife of 57 years, Grace-Lynne Martin, passed away earlier this year on February 11, 2012 of natural causes. Ingle is survived by their five daughters, Jessica, Jenny, Carey, Melanie and Chrissy, and nine grandchildren. (more...)
