Turner to Launch New Bleacher Report Live Sports Streaming Service

Global media company Turner today announced it will launch its new premium live sports streaming service 'Bleacher Report Live' in April. B/R Live will serve as the central hub for both the discovery and consumption of live sports content. The new streaming service will allow fans to find and watch their favorite sports content anywhere, anytime and on the screen of their choice.Beginning this summer, B/R Live will implement flexible pricing options, providing direct access to live games for purchase on an individual or subscription basis.
Opera Philadelphia Names Marita Altman Vice President of Development

David B. Devan, General Director & President of Opera Philadelphia, announced today the appointment of Marita Altman as Vice President of Development. Ms. Altman begins her tenure in Philadelphia on Wednesday, March 15, after stepping down from her post as Director of Major Gifts at the Metropolitan Opera, where she has worked since 2008. Altman will manage all of the company's fundraising operations while working alongside members of Opera Philadelphia's senior management team.

Opera Philadelphia Announces Upcoming Season Schedule; Tickets on Sale, 8/1

Tickets go on sale on Monday, August 1, for Opera Philadelphia's 2016-2017 Season, including two September productions: the World Premiere of Breaking the Waves, composer Missy Mazzoli's opera inspired by Lars von Trier's searing Oscar-nominated 1996 film; and Puccini's grand Turandot starring soprano Christine Goerke in the title role. Tickets are also available for a series of special fall events surrounding these productions, including lectures, recitals, film screenings, brunches, backstage tours, and social events. Opera fans can also choose their seats for two spring productions at the Academy of Music: Rossini's Tancredi (February 2017), featuring star mezzo Stephanie Blythe's highly anticipated first appearance in the title role; and a new production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro (April–May 2017).

After a year of sold-out shows from NYC to London, musical theater fanatic, cruise ship performer and celebrity stalker Lance is back in NYC with six special farewell shows featuring local celebrities. As always, Lance has invited Cher, Liza Minnelli, Hugh Jackman, Gloria Estefan and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be guests on his makeshift talk show, but they've yet to confirm. The Actors Fund, in association with Michael Childers, will present a one-night only special event, Tradition: The Jewish Legacy of Broadway, a celebration of the great Jewish composers, lyricists and performers who graced the stages of Broadway from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, on Monday, December 14 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street). All proceeds will benefit the programs and services of The Actors Fund.
