The School of American Ballet Raises More Than $1.1 Million at 2013 WINTER BALL by BWW News Desk - Mar 12, 2013
The School of American Ballet's 2013 Winter Ball: A Night in the Far East at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater on Monday, March 11, 2013 raised more than $1.1 million for scholarships and school programs. The evening, sponsored by legendary French Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, began with cocktails at 7pm and dinner at 8pm, followed by a one-time-only performance, and The Encore dessert and dancing. Romero Britto, the internationally renowned Brazilian artist, will unveil his portrait of the author of The Racing Heart and philanthropist, Ava Roosevelt, during a private reception on Saturday, December 15th, 2012. The reception, hosted by Mrs. Roosevelt in her Palm Beach residence, will also serve as a 'friend-raiser' for the Education Technology & Performance Foundation (www.ETPFoundation.com), a newly founded charitable trust on which Ava serves as a member of the Advisory Board. Founded in 2012, ETP Foundation advocates the use of effective technology in education, raising funds and increasing philanthropic support for education, technology and performance in schools. 'Cornish Celebrates an Evening of the Arts' Raises More Than $500,000 for Scholarship Support by BWW News Desk - Nov 20, 2012
Following a gala evening that featured performances by Bill Irwin and Cornish students, alumni and faculty, President Nancy J. Uscher is pleased to announce the annual event raised more than $500,000 for the Cornish Scholarship Fund. The total includes $105,000 for the Sherry Raisbeck Endowed Scholarship, an endowment created last year by James Raisbeck in honor of his wife, a Cornish graduate and member of the Board of Trustees. Virginia Anderson, Board Chair, announced a $25,000 gift to the College's endowment in honor of Jane Ewing, former Vice President of Institutional Advancement who retired last spring. (more...)
