Starring Heather Headley as Rachel Marron and Lloyd Owen as Frank Farmer in the roles made famous on film by the late Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, tickets for THE BODYGUARD went on sale on May 1, taking bookings until 27 April 2013 for the productions first booking period. Previews begin on 6 November 2012, twenty years after the release of the Oscar nominated film. Opening night is 5 December. Can't wait? The new musical FLASHDANCE, which was scheduled to play a pre-Broadway engagement in Toronto this summer, has announced a postponement of the Toronto engagement. The show's producers were planning on moving the production directly from Toronto to Broadway. Due to scheduling issues, the Broadway production has been postponed until the spring. ( more...)

SEMINAR, the acclaimed comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, The Understudy, Omnium Gatherum, NYPD Blue, NBCs hit series Smash) and directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, The Big Meal, Look Back in Anger), will play its final Broadway performance in today's matinee, May 6. The World Premiere production opened on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and will have played a total of 191 performances and 26 previews at The Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

Thea Sharrock is to direct The Bodyguard, a new musical opening at the Adelphi Theatre in Autumn 2012 based on the Warner Bros. film of the same name with screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan. Starring Heather Headley as Rachel Marron and Lloyd Owen as Frank Farmer in the roles made famous on film by the late Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, tickets for The Bodyguard go on sale today (1 May 2012) taking bookings until 27 April 2013 for the productions first booking period. In celebration of the bicentenary of Charles Dickens, PNPF Associates Ltd. in association with Ovation present the new musical A TALE OF TWO CITIES at The Charing Cross Theatre. Directed by Paul Nicholas, A TALE OF TWO CITIES has music by multi platinum award-winner David Pomeranz, book by Emmy winner Steven David Horwick and David Soames, lyrics by Steven David Horwich, musical arrangements by John Cameron, and choreography/assistant direction by Racky Plews. An official opening will likely occur in December. The musical will be directed by Thea Sharrock and will feature Tony Award winning actress Heather Headley as the leading lady. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this provocative new comedy.
