David Garrison and Lynn Cohen Join THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE at Bucks County Playhouse by BWW News Desk - May 24, 2013
Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced casting for The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, the final production of the 2013 Playhouse Productions Summer Season. Golden Globe winner and four-time Academy Award nominee for Best Actress, Marsha Mason, will star as Marjorie Taub. David Garrison ("Married With Children") and Lynn Cohen ("Sex and the City") have also joined the cast. Previously announced, four-time Tony Award winnerBoyd Gaines will direct. Performances begin August 15th and run through September 1st at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA). (more...)

James Corden Joins THE SAME DEEP WATER AS ME at Donmar Warehouse; Still in Talks for INTO THE WOODS Film? by BWW News Desk - May 02, 2013
According to the Daily Mail, James Corden has signed on to appear alongside Daniel Mays in Nick Payne's play The Same Deep Water As Me at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by John Crawley. Corden also recently met with Into the Woods film director Rob Marshall to discuss appearing in the movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's musical. If the dates for both projects do not conflict, Corden will take part in the pair. (more...)

Today in 1997, Titanic opened at the Lunt-Fonatnne Theatre, where it ran for 804 performances. Titanic is a musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone that won five Tony Awards including the award for Best Musical. Titanic is set on the ocean liner RMS Titanic which sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912. Directed by Richard Jones with choreography by Lynne Taylor-Corbett, the cast included John Cunningham, David Garrison, Larry Keith, Alma Cuervo, Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, and Brian d'Arcy James. Breaking News: TUCK EVERLASTING Postponed for Both Boston & Broadway by BWW News Desk - Apr 11, 2013
The world premiere production of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING, scheduled to play Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre (106 Boylston Street) from July 28-August 18, 2013, has been postponed due to a lack of theatre availability for its planned subsequent production in New York. Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village.

The world premiere production of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING will play at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre (106 Boylston Street) from July 28-August 18, 2013. The pre-Broadway production will feature (in alphabetical order): Fred Applegate (Sister Act) as 'Constable Joe,'Marylouise Burke (Fuddy Meers) as 'Nana,' Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (Scandalous) as 'Ma Tuck,' David Garrison (Titanic) as 'The Man In The Yellow Suit,' Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) as 'Jesse Tuck,' Daytime Emmy Award Winner Michael Park (How To Succeed...) as 'Pa Tuck,' Michael Wartella (The Kid) as 'Hugo,' and Valerie Wright (Elf) as 'Mother,' and will introduce Sadie Sink in the role of 'Winnie.'
