DEFYING GRAVITY: THE MUSIC OF STEPHEN SCHWARTZ will be presented tonight, June 18th at Toronto's Jazz Bistro. The 9 p.m. performance features vocalists, Michael Hughes (2013 New York City Bistro Award Winner, MICKEY & JUDY) and Callandra Dendias (Toronto's MAMMA MIA!), who last joined forces in 2010 for their sold-out concer t"Unexpressed" at the Berkeley Street Theatre, will reunite for DEFYING GRAVITY: THE MUSIC OF STEPHEN SCHWARTZ. With performances by special guests, including multiple East Coast Music Award nominee, John Connolly, Lindsey Frazier (star of Neptune Theatre's LEGALLY BLONDE), singer/songwriter Kritty Uranowski (Patti Cake), newcomer Joel Cumber, and accompanist Mark Selby. Novels, such as James Joyce's 'Ulysses,' 'Hamlet' and Homer's 'Odyssey,' are classic works of literature that are loved by many. These famous stories have captivated many with their compelling plots, infamous lessons and powerful morals. Unfortunately, the power of these inspirational books is lost on high school students and younger generations. However, a new feature film on Kickstarter from 'You (Plural)' is taking these beloved novels, and adapting them to become more relatable in today's modern world. (more...)

Since their inception just five years ago, The Tenors have been thrilling audiences worldwide with their powerful voices and memorable melodies singing a blend of classical music and contemporary pop. Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray, Remigo Pereira, and Fraser Walters have performed on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (with Celine Dion), for Her Majesty The Queen during her Diamond Jubilee at Windsor Castle, the live broadcast of the 2011 Emmy Awards in LA, at the opening ceremonies of Vancouver's 2010 Olympics, and for the NBA, MLB, and NHL All-Star Games. They have shared the stage with Sarah McLachlan, Neil Young, Paul Anka, Justin Bieber, Paul McCartney, Brian McKnight, David Foster, and Natalie Cole among others.
