The Royal Court Theatres Olivier Award-winning play COCK opened last night, May 17. Written by Mike Bartlett, directed by James Macdonald and starring Jason Butler Harner as M, Amanda Quaid as W, Cory Michael Smith as John and Cotter Smith as F, COCK is playing Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Photo Coverage: LCT Unveils the New Claire Tow Theatre

Yesterday, May 16, Lincoln Center unveiled its brand new space, The Claire Tow Theatre. This latest theatrical venue on the complex will be the new home to LCTs programming initiative LCT3. It is now also the centerpiece of a $42 million, 23,000 square foot structure on the roof of the Vivian Beaumont Theater which also includes rehearsal and office space. It is the first live performance theater to open at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in over 40 years. ( more...)

The 2012 Drama Critics Circle aAards were presented at a cocktail reception last night, May 14, at Angus McIndoe Restaurant. Sons of the Prophet, written by Stephen Karam, won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2011-2012 season. The award for Best Foreign Play went to Tribes, written by Nina Raine. Once received the award for Best Musical.

Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. This years ceremony will once again benefit The Actors Fund. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST.
