Gingold Theatrical Group -- which launched its first SHAW NEW YORK festival with a revival of Shaw's comedic masterpiece, MAN AND SUPERMAN, as a co-production with The Irish Repertory Theatre, and directed by GTG Artistic Director David Staller – continues SHAW NEW YORK with a SHAW CRITIC SYMPOSIUM at 2pm and SHAW CONCERT at 8pm – on Saturday, June 2 at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. The 2012 Drama Critics Circle aAards were presented at a cocktail reception last night, May 14, at Angus McIndoe Restaurant. Sons of the Prophet, written by Stephen Karam, won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2011-2012 season. The award for Best Foreign Play went to Tribes, written by Nina Raine. Once received the award for Best Musical.

The New York Drama Critics’ Circle met on May 7, 2012, at the offices of Time Out New York magazine, to determine the winners of its 77th annual awards. The overall results were Best Play: Sons of the Prophet (Stephen Karam), Best Foreign Play: Tribes (Nina Raine), Best Musical: Once (Enda Walsh, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová) and Special Citations: Signature Theatre Company; Mike Nichols for his contribution to the theater. Sons of the Prophet, written by Stephen Karam, today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2011-2012 season. The award for Best Foreign Play went to Tribes, written by Nina Raine. Once received the award for Best Musical. The selections were made at the 77th annual voting meeting of the organization today at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan. Special Citations were awarded to Mike Nichols and Signature Theatre Company. The awards will be presented at a cocktail reception to be held on Monday, May 14, at Angus McIndoe Restaurant.

Drama Critics Circle to Announce 2012 Award Winners Tonight

Adam Feldman, president of the New York Drama CriticsÂ’ Circle (NYDCC), has announced that the Circle will meet at the offices of Time Out New York magazine today, Monday, May 7, to select the winners of the 77th annual New York Drama CriticsÂ’ Circle Awards, which will be announced at approximately 7pm, immediately following the meeting. NYTW Extends AN ILIAD Through April 1

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced that the New York premiere of An Iliad, by Denis OÂ’Hare and Lisa Peterson, based on HomerÂ’s Iliad translated by Robert Fagles, directed by Ms. Peterson, will extend for one week through Sunday, April 1, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue.
