The new Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE, starring Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox, plays its final performance today, May 12, 2013, after 15 previews and 30 regular performances at the Marquis Theatre. Direct from a 25-week national tour which launched in October 2012, JEKYLL & HYDE began previews on Broadway on April 5 and opened on April 18, 2013. 2013 KSBR Birthday Bash Jazz Festival to Celebrate 25 Years with Over 30 Musicians, 5/26

Celebrating its 25th year, the 2013 KSBR Birthday Bash Jazz Festival, presented by Saddleback College radio station KSBR (88.5 FM), returns to the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park in Mission Viejo, on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Organizers are excited to announce the second annual Taste of the Bash, which was a wildly successful element introduced last year and will again feature more than 25 restaurants showing off their finest creations. The Taste is an added value so those purchasing tickets to the concert will be admitted to the Taste of the Bash for no additional charge. The Birthday Bash is the major fundraising event for KSBR. Hollywood Buys Film Rights to Broadway's JEKYLL AND HYDE

The New York Times reports that film producer Mike Medavoy ('Black Swan') and Rick Nicita of RP Media have teamed up to buy the film rights to the Broadway musical JEKYLL AND HYDE. The musical, with a book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn, is set to return to Broadway's Marquis Theater in Spring 2013 following a 25-week National Tour. (more...)

Grammy-nominated saxman Dave Koz's contribution to our community this year will surpass his usual stellar holiday entertainment via the 15th Annual Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour. Today, December 6, 2012, Koz joins PlayhouseSquare and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital to ask his fans to bring new toys or books to his 7:30 PM Palace Theatre concert. Collected items will be distributed to the hospital's patients. Also, Koz is donating $1 from each of his CDs sold at the concert to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. (more...)
