Off Broadway Alliance to Honor King Displays with 'Friend of Off Broadway' Award

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, will bestow its 2nd Annual Friend of Off Broadway Award to Wayne Sapper and Ken Lubin of King Displays. The Alliance established the Friend of Off Broadway Award to honor the people or organizations that have consistently provided extraordinary generosity, support and expertise to the Off Broadway community. The award will be presented at the 3rd annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards Reception tomorrow, June 18th at 4:30 PM at Sardi's. All of the 2013 honorees will be on hand to receive their awards. Official: KINKY BOOTS to Kick Off National Tour in 2014 from Las Vegas!

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig are proud to announce that Kinky Boots, the six-time Tony Award-winning musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), will open its national tour in September 2014 at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Las Vegas (361 Symphony Park Avenue). High School Vocalists to Compete at SONGBOOK Regionals this Weekend in New York

High school vocalists from New York and Connecticut will compete on Saturday, June 15 at a regional for the Great American Songbook Vocal Academy & Competition. Sponsored by the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Initiative, the annual endeavor is the only U.S. competition dedicated solely to the music from Broadway, Hollywood musicals and the Tin Pan Alley era of the early to mid-twentieth century. Sunfish, the award-winning musical by the songwriting team of Michael Cooper and Hyeyoung Kim has been selected to open DIMF (Daegu International Musical Festival), the largest international Musical Theatre festival in the world, Monday, June 17, 2013. Tony-Nominated ANNIE to Launch Tour in 2014-15!

ANNIE, nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, will launch a US National Tour in the 2014-2015 season. The national tour will be produced by Troika Entertainment. BEN RIMALOWER: "PATTI ISSUES" - the hit Off Broadway solo play hailed as "ecstatically vivid" by The New York Times and praised for its "wit, feeling and conviction" by Time Out New York - has added a second performance for its Chicago premiere due to high ticket demand. In addition to the show on Thursday, June 13, there will be an additional show on Friday, June 14. Both will be at Mary's Attic at 8:00 PM. After rave reviews and a host of awards, the New York production of "PATTI ISSUES" was recently extended for the sixth time and will run through June 29 at The Duplex in the West Village.
