You would think that Edith Wharton's fizzy little comic novel, The Glimpses Of The Moon, might have been a perfect property for Rodgers & Hart or Kern, Wodehouse & Bolton to musicalize when it was fresh off the presses in 1922.  But no, it took until 2008 for New Yorkers to get a glimpse, not to mention a pleasant earful, of a brand new frothy little musical charmer based on her book, courtesy of a couple of moderns, Tajlei Levis (book and lyrics) and John Mercurio (music).

Broadway diva, NATALIE TORO, will appear as the Special Guest Star in GLIMPSES ON THE MOON Monday, December 8th and Monday, December 15th as the Off-Broadway-sold-out-musical-hit continues to delight audiences at the Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street - between 5th and 6th Avenues).

It is always a pleasure to see a well-crafted, witty musical comedy. 'Glimpses of the Moon,' an original musical based on an Edith Wharton novel and created specifically for the intimate wood-paneled Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, delivers in spades. Produced by Lemon Tree Productions and written by Tajlei Levis and John Mercurio, it is a sparkling valentine to the jazz age.

Trouble in Mind, Alice Childress' drama of race, identity and opportunity in the American theatre, will be produced by Yale Repertory Theatre from October 26 to November 17. Opening night is Thursday, November 1.
