Tituss Burgess, Maude Maggart & More Join NIGHT OF A THOUSAND JUDYS, 6/17

The third annual "Night of A Thousand Judys" - presented by The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - has added Maude Maggart (Entertainment Weekly's "Must List"), Tituss Burgess ("30 Rock," Jersey Boys), Rachel Shukert (Starstruck), John Early ("30 Rock") and Becca Blackwell (Untitled Feminist Show) to the lineup of talent for the show on Monday, June 17. The Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center will take place at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center (129 West 67th Street in New York). "Night of A Thousand Judys" will honor the legendary singer and actress Judy Garland with special skits, tributes and songs from her storied career. There will be a pre-show VIP reception at 6:30 PM and the show at 8:00 PM. The show is written and hosted by Justin Sayre and Lance Horneserves as music director, with choreography by Jason Wise and costumes by Sean Barrett. (more...)

On Wednesday, June 5, Fundamental Theatre Project will present Benjamin Button - A New Musical, as a part of Mass Rhetoric: A New Works Festival. With music by Natalie Tenenbaum and a book and lyrics by Brett Boles, the project will be directed by Stephen Nachamie and will feature Daniel Reichard, Melissa van der Schyff, Hunter Herdlicka, T.J. There are only a few more performances to catch for Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: ALIVE AND KICKING! at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street). The smash musical, which received unanimous raves from critics and audiences alike, broke all box-office records at the 47th Street Theatre and won spots on the Top Ten Lists of Time Magazine and the Associated Press, will begin its hiatus on Sunday, April 28, in order to make room for The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre's own season, as required by the show's lease agreement with the theatre. With music byFelix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream has stage, video and lighting design by Brickman and has music production and is written by legendary guitarist Van Zandt. Performances begin Monday, April 15th atBroadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street), and will play through Sunday, May 5th.
