Harry Potter Parody Show Coming to New York City This Summer?

According to the New York Times, a Harry Potter parody play titled POTTED POTTER, which is currently playing at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre, might move to New York this summer. The two-man show, starring Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, is looking to open at off-Broadway's Little Shubert Theatre. ( more...)

Dan and Jeff, the british duo behind the hilarious Potted Potter, promise that even non-Harry Potter fans can enjoy their show. I opted to put this theory to the test, and went to review the show having never read a single book in the popular franchise. By the end of the night, I was playing Quidditch with the rest of the audience and laughing until I cried. Potted Potter is a treat for young and old, Potterites and non. ( more...)

Green Room Awards Winners Announced: MARY POPPINS, YANA ALANA Lead

The Green Room Awards took place at The Famous Spiegeltent in Melbourne last night, and global favorite MARY POPPINS led the night with a total of nine awards out of its twelve nominations. Yana Alana and the Paranas in Concert, a cabaret production, was a close second for total awards with six out of eight cabaret awards. ( more...)

Fortyfivedownstairs has announced its November programming. Street art and gardens have combined in the installation created by young artists from the Artful Dodgers Studios. In the theatre we have two solo shows from strongly contrasting environments performed by outstanding actors, Ellie Nielsen (Waiting for Isabella) and Hannah Norris (My Name is Rachel Corrie). With one set in mid twentieth century Paris, the other in war torn Gaza, these two works could hardly be more different! ( more...)
