Planet Connections Theatre Festivity will present Naked Brazilian, written and performed by Gustavo Pace, as part of the 4th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place May 30th through June 24th at Culture Project, 45 Bleeker Street in New York City. Ticket $18. Naked Brazilian is playing at Culture Project (Downstairs) in a limited run: Tuesday, June 5th @ 6pm; Friday, June 8th @ 8:30pm; Sunday, June 10th @ 4pm; and Sunday, June 17th @ 3pm, 2012. ( more...)

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo and Noor Theatre Artistic Director Lameece Isaaq, Executive Director Maha Chehlaoui, and Producing Director Nancy Vitale have announced that the world premiere of Food and Fadwa, written by Lameece Issaq and Jacob Kader, and directed by Shana Gold, begins performances tonight, Friday, May 18, 2012, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. The opening night is scheduled for Thursday, June 7. Food and Fadwa is a co-production with Noor Theatre, a company-in-residence at New York Theatre Workshop. ( more...)

Producers Victor Syrmis and Carl Rumbaugh, along with Culture Project, announced today that the World Premiere of In Masks Outrageous and Austere, the final full-length play by Tennessee Williams, will end its limited engagement following the matinee performance on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The show, which began previews at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette Street) on April 6 and opened on Monday, April 16, will have played 9 preview performance and 28 regular performances. Poetic Theater Productions remounts Goliath by Takeo Rivera, recipient of the 2011 Planet Connections Award for Outstanding Overall Production of a New Play, May 23rd-June 3rd at the Wild Project (195 E 3rd St). Goliath is once again directed by Alex Mallory (2011 Planet Connections Award for Outstanding Direction) and features return ensemble members Samantha Cooper, Dontonio Demarco, Natalia Duong, Edgar Eguia and Monique Paige (2011 Planet Connections Award for Outstanding Ensemble) and newcomers Kenneth Heaton, Iliana Inocencio and Nabil Viñas. Directed by David Schweizer, it will begin performances on Thursday, April 5, 2012 with an Opening Night set for Monday, April 16, 2012 at Culture Project.
