National New Play Network (NNPN), the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has added three new Core Members: Silk Road Rising (Chicago), Company One (Boston), and City Theatre Company (Pittsburgh). As of the date of this release, NNPN has 114 Members Theaters, comprised of 32 Cores and 82 Associates.

SYFY Films today announces the release of the upcoming film HOVER, in theaters on June 29, 2018 and on VOD and Digital HD on July 3, 2018. Directed by Matt Osterman (400 DAYS, “Ghost from the Machine”), the science fiction film marks the feature screenwriting debut of Cleopatra Coleman (“The Last Man on Earth,” “White Famous”). Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Julie Menin today announced the launch of “New York in 25,” a year-long public awareness campaign promoting NYC Life, the City's official television channel, which appears as channel 25 on most cable providers, and channel 25.1 over the air. The print, digital, and broadcast campaign features prominent New Yorkers describing the reasons why they love New York City – in exactly 25 words.

Written and performed by Craig 'muMs' Grant, A Sucker Emcee will be a special six show limited engagement as part of NBT's 48th season themed In Pursuit of Black Joy. For this remount, NBT has brought together the original production team of Director Jenny Koons, DJ/composer Rich Medina, Set Designer David Meyer, Light Designer Bradley King, and Sound Designer Jessica Paz.

 The third annual New York New Work Theatre Festival at the Times Square Arts Centre (300 West 43rd Street) announced today the 2016 finalists including Flesh & Spirit, Most Likely To, Palin Live, Trashman's Dilemma, World Without End and The Love Junkie. Each show will be presented at the Gala, tonight, October 5th, at 7:00 PM when the winner of the Festival will be selected.

The third annual New York New Work Theatre Festival at the Times Square Arts Centre (300 West 43rd Street) kicks off the Semifinals on Monday, September 19 with Starmites, the Six-Time Tony-Nominated Musical and continues with shows featuring some of the cast members of Wicked, Finding Neverland and Jersey Boys.

In one of the first festivals of its kind, a panel of Broadway Producers and Emmy winning writers has compiled its final list of performances for the upcoming New York New Works Theatre Festival (August 29th - October 5).

The annual Playwrights for a Cause will be Sunday, July 24th at 7:30 pm at the Atlantic Theatre (Linda Gross Theater), 336 West 20th Street, NYC 10011. Founded and curated by Glory Kadigan, Playwrights for a Cause is the annual benefit hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. This year the event will benefit this important group - New Yorkers Against Gun Violence.
