A Red Orchid Theatre closes out its 20th Anniversary Season with Simpatico, written by Sam Shepard and directed by Ensemble Member Dado featuring Ensemble Members Michael Shannon and Guy Van Swearingen. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere ofCharles Ives Take Me Home, written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Daniella Topol. Charles Ives Take Me Home will begin performances on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater at 224 Waverly Place. The official opening night is set forThursday, June 13 at 7pm. Village Green Productions has announced the return of THE BOOMERANG EFFECT, written by Matthew Leavitt, produced by Del Shores and directed by Damaso Rodriguz. THE BOOMERANG EFFECT will mark the final production Mr. Rodriguez will direct in Los Angeles prior to his becoming Artistic Director of the Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland. THE BOOMERANG EFFECT will preview on Thursday, June 6 & Friday, June 7 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, June 8 and will run through Saturday, July 27 at the Zephyr Theatre, 7456 Melrose Ave., in West Hollywood. Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave currently star in the world premiere of Eisenberg's The Revisionist, directed by Kip Fagan, which began its limited run on February 6 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. Now according to the New York Times, the show wil extend yet again, now closing on April 27. Plus, the show is looking into a possible Broadway transfer for the 2013-14 season. (more...)

Recent transplant from Charlotte, NC, BareBones Theatre Group marks its
Chicago debut with 'Orange Flower Water' on Saturday, May 11 at Raven Theatre, 6157 N. Clark Street. BareBones Theatre Group is presenting this as a co-production with Interrobang Theatre Project, and will merge together for the 2013-14 season. Founder and Artistic Director of BareBones Theatre Group and co-Artistic Director of Interrobang Theatre Project James Yost directs 'Orange Flower Water' running Thursday through Saturdays and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3:30 p.m. until June 9.
