Unfiltered 2012, the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Youngblood's under-30, 2012 Obie Award-winning playwright incubator that has produced talents such as Annie Baker, Amy Herzog, Jon Kern, Lucy Alibar, and Robert Askins, has new dates. Unfiltered 2012 opens Today, November 16, at 7:00pm and now runs through January 11 at Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST), 549 West 52nd Street. (Original dates were November 9 through December 7.) Cori Thomas Wins M. Elizabeth Osborn New Play Award for WHEN JANUARY FEELS LIKE SUMMER by BWW News Desk - Mar 19, 2011
Cori Thomas has won ATCA's 2011 M. Elizabeth Osborn New Play Award for an emerging playwright. The award recognizes Thomas' When January Feels Like Summer, which premiered in March 2010 at City Theatre in Pittsburgh. The Osborn Award is designed to recognize the work of an author who has not yet achieved national stature - e.g., has not had a significant New York production or been staged widely in regional theaters. Last year's award went to Jason Wells for Perfect Mendacity; previous winners included Rebecca Gilman and Keith Glover. The 2011 award will be presented April 2 at the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville. (more...)

MSG Network Leads New York Emmy Award Nominations by TV News Desk - Feb 18, 2011
MSG Network received a whopping 60 nominations Thursday for the 54th Annual New York Emmy Awards. Among the other regional sports networks, the YES Network notched 46 nominations, while MSG Varsity picked up 32 nods. SNY was recognized 23 times. (more...)

Signature Presents Reading Series of Works by Negro Ensemble Company by BWW News Desk - Dec 12, 2008
Signature Theatre Company continues its celebration of the Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) with special presentations of three more plays from the historic NEC repertoire. Curated by NEC Founder Douglas Turner Ward, Signature Associate Artist Ruben Santiago-Hudson and the Signature Theatre Company staff, these plays will be read on stage at the Peter Norton Space (555 West 42nd Street) on select evenings throughout the season. These classic works give greater insight into the history of this vital and groundbreaking company.
