Out of the Box Theatre Company is finishing off their third season with an intimate black box production of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Next to Normal. THE HOBBIT Crosses $1 Billion in Worldwide Box Office Sales

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" has surpassed the billion dollar milestone at the worldwide box office. The joint announcement was made today by Toby Emmerich, President and Chief Operating Officer, New Line Cinema; Gary Barber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios; Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Final Film in THE HOBBIT Trilogy Pushed to Dec. 2014

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has bumped the release date for the final film in THE HOBBIT trilogy, THERE AND BACK AGAIN, to December 17, 2014. The film was originally set for a theatrical release on July 18, 2014. (more...)

As featured on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and NPR's "All Things Considered," The Intergalactic Nemesis Book One: "Target Earth" takes to the stage in a new genre: a sci-fi live-action, graphic novel. With an uncanny combination of comic book meets radio serial, mediums converge as three actors, a Foley artist and musician perform all the voices, sound effects and music for more than 1,000 hand-drawn, full-color-and-larger-than-life comic book panels projected on to a screen. The out-of-this-world adventure of The Intergalactic Nemesis Book One: "Target Earth" will run at The New Victory Theater, 209 West 42nd Street from April 5 through 13. (more...)

THE HOBBIT to be Released on DVD & Blu-ray, 3/19

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM), arriving on Digital Download on March 12th and on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack and 2-Disc DVD Special Edition on March 19th from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. All disc versions feature UltraVioletÔ and over 130 minutes of bonus content.The first of a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," which is nominated for three Academy Awards*, is an epic adventure that immerses audiences once again in the fantastical world of Middle-earth. The Intergalactic Nemesis Book Two: Robot Planet Rising Comes to Eccles Center, 2/16

The Eccles Center is poised to launch an adventure in entertainment with a second - and new - installation of The Intergalactic Nemesis. For the uninitiated, this unique, "live-action graphic novel" blends comic book-style drawings (projected onto a giant screen), actors performing radio drama on stage, music, kapow-like sound effects and utter escapism. Book Two: Robot Planet Rising takes audiences into stellar and unchartered terrain on Saturday, February 16. Show is recommended for all ages (including children ages 7 and older).
