The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced additional major gifts for the Kennedy Center Expansion Project, the institution's first new construction since opening in 1971.

American Ballet Theatre celebrated the opening of the 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House with a one-time-only opening night gala performance on Monday, May 13th. Mrs. Michelle Obama, Caroline Kennedy and Blaine Trump served as Honorary Chairs of this special performance featuring all of ABT's Principal Dancers. Patricia Loughrey's play 'Dear Harvey' will be presented in a concert reading with professional actors at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. during the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) this April. KCACTF is a national theater program involving 18,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide which has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States.

The Kennedy Center today announced additional casting for Terrence McNally's Master Class. Joining the previously announced Tyne Daly as Maria Callas is Jeremy Cohen as Manny, Laquita Mitchell as Second Soprano (Sharon), Ta'u Pupu'a as Tenor (Tony), and Alexandra Silber as First Soprano (Sophie).

Directors include Walter Bobbie for Master Class and Christopher Ashley for The Lisbon Traviata.
