Coming up at 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is the "54 Piano Bar," a new vocal competition - 'The Callback," and more, including: stage and television star Laura Benanti, High Fidelity in Concert, WGBO Jazz Series: Karrin Allyson Quartet, Tony winner Frances Ruffelle, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band, Sondheim Unplugged and Simply Streisand. The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised a staggering $4,250,542 - eclipsing the previous high of $3,734,129 set in 2007. The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. STAGE TUBE: BC/EFA's 2013 Easter Bonnet Competition Raises Over $4.2 Million - Highlights!

The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised a staggering $4,250,542 - eclipsing the previous high of $3,734,129 set in 2007. The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots), two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy) and Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper (Kinky Boots) were on hand to announce the grand total at this year's Easter Bonnet Competition, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs, dances and 19 intricate, custom-made bonnets. (UMC) will launch its new Unsung Cabaret Series with Unsung Jimmy Van Heusen, an intimate evening celebrating the centennial of legendary four-time Academy Award-winning and three-time Tony Award-nominated composer Jimmy Van Heusen (Skyscraper, Walking Happy, Thoroughly Modern Millie) on June 17. Hosted by Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat (A Catered Affair, Catch Me If You Can), this concert will be held at 8pm at The Cutting Room. (more...)

NEWSICAL Announces the Addition of Susan Mosher and Carly Sakolove to the Cast

Susan Mosher and Carly Sakolove join the cast of the off-Broadway musical revue, NEWSical the Musical, beginning April 15th. Ms. Sakolove steps into NEWSical the Musical as a swing while Ms. Mosher, who starred in Hairspray on Broadway, replaces Christine Pedi who is stepping out for ten weeks to join Broadway's Chicago. Kittin Withawhip (So You Think You Can Drag, The Ultimate Drag Off, Last Comic Standing) hosted the opening night of Boylesque!, a new all-male burlesque revue at the new Lucky Cheng's Drag Cabaret in Times Square. Christine Pedi (Newsical) headlined the opening night line-up, joined by Reyscandalo De La Verga (Broadway After Dark, RENT), Jake Haynie (Broadway After Dark, SMASH), Darrel T. Joe (Damn Yankees, National Tour), Michael McArthur (A Chorus Line at Paper Mill Playhouse, Newsies at Paper Mill Playhouse, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, SMASH), and Matt Anctil (La Cage Aux Folles, Broadway Beauty Pageant). Boylesque! is set to play Wednesdays at 11:00pm. Lucky Cheng's is located at 240 West 52nd Street.
