Weinberger (Class Mothers '68 starring Priscilla Lopez), will play off-Broadway at The Black Box at The Davenport Theater (354 W. 45th Street) beginning November 3rd with the official opening scheduled for November 17th. The show is produced by Seaglass Theatrical and co-produced by Waterfront Theatrics and Martha Robinson.

The Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights (AFPP) is returning to Abingdon to celebrate the richness of the Appalachian culture by showcasing stories of the region and the inspiration it provides writers.

Barter has a rich tradition of producing new plays, many of which have originated in this festival, known as the AFPP. This year, the festival includes readings of seven brand new Appalachian plays July 7 - 14, 2014 as well as a "mini-production" of a world-premiere musical, "Winter Wheat," July 29- August 10.

Rising Sun Performance Company announced last month that it is presenting a new short play reading series 'UNDER REHEARSED' and have partnered with The West Brooklyn as their venue. The Reading series is intended to create new artistic relationships with Guest Directors, Playwrights and Actors as well as provide a fun and engaging night for our audiences. The Series will of course also feature the critically acclaimed ensemble of Rising Sun. The Creative Team for each series will be announced a week prior to each series, and will be listed on RSP's Website, Facebook and via media outlets. The plays will be 10-15 minutes long, and each reading will have a short break in between to allow for conversation, libations and connection between the artists and audience.
