The Orlando Repertory Theatre (Orlando REP), in partnership with UCF, is proud to announce the 2019 - 2020 Season. Orlando REP is Florida's only professional theatre for families and young audiences. The 2019 - 2020 Season shines the light on the family unit and celebrates that wondrous connection, with all the complications and beauty that come along with it.

TUCK EVERLASTING at Hale Center Theater Orem is a fanciful, emotional production.

The Gift Theatre announces casting for its Chicago premiere of Hansol Jung's WOLF PLAY, a messy, funny, and disturbing theatrical experience grappling with a wolf, a puppet, and a very prickly problem: What is a family? What do we need from them, today? Is it very different from the things humans have needed from families before?

Ritz' production of Big Fish is whimsical, funny and charming. It is emotional tapestry of sentiments that will leave you undoubtedly laughing, smiling, and sometimes teary-eyed. This father-son musical is relatable, teaching us to 'be the hero of your story' (make the most of life and create your own destiny). Big Fish is a family musical about the important role of stories in our lives, and will make you appreciate your own family's anecdotes.

Broadway Unlocked founder Jessica Ryan announced today the seventh annual #giveback concert held Sunday, April 7, 2019 at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space raised over $51,000 for the Crime Victims Treatment Center.   The evening featured new and original work, including a host of debut songs inspired by the writings of survivors who have found help at CVTC.  A multitude of artists contributed their talents across the event's digital content and concert cast.

A Shazam! sequel is officially in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Henry Gayden, the original screenwriter, will return for the sequel. Director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran are also expected to return. 

It was announced today that the new musical Swept Away, featuring the music of The Avett Brothers, will have its world premiere at Berkeley Rep as part of their 2019-20 season, beginning performances in June 2020. Swept Away is produced by Berkeley Rep by special arrangement with Matthew Masten and Sean Hudock.

Written by the team of Chris Miller (music) and Nathan Tyson (lyrics), this live performance features the work of videographer Nate Wind.

Veteran comedy screenwriting partners Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel, known for such acclaimed box-office hits as Splash and Parenthood, have been named the recipients of the Writers Guild of America West's 2019 Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement, presented to Guild members who have “advanced the literature of motion pictures and made outstanding contributions to the profession of the screenwriter.”

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley brings an enchanted bestseller to life for the holidays with the regional premiere of Tuck Everlasting. Set in the 1890s, free-spirited Winnie Foster searches for adventure, finding the Tucks, a close-knit family that has discovered the secret to everlasting life. Winnie faces the choice of a lifetime: return to everyday life, or join the Tucks on their infinite, irreversible voyage through time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Animation is already in the process of putting the pieces together for not just a 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse' sequel, but an all-female spinoff.
