The 12th annual NIGHT OF A THOUSAND JUDYS at Joe's Pub had no shortage of pow to wow its eager audience. The annual event drew a big crowd and money for the Ali Forney Center, a non-profit benefitting homeless LGBTQ+ youth. The June 3rd show turned on the energy to the max.

This season, Broadway welcomes a star-studded revival of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People starring Emmy Award-winners Jeremy Strong and Michael Imperioli, and Victoria Pedretti. Behind the production is powerhouse pair, Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold and acclaimed, award-winning playwright Amy Herzog, a real-life married couple who are making their debut as collaborators on the production. The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced that AIR, the Amazon MGM Studios sports dramedy directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Ben Affleck, will receive The Gotham Visionary Icon & Creator Tribute at the 33rd annual Gotham Awards Ceremony. Nominees for the Gotham Awards will be announced on Tuesday, October 24th. 

The Ariana DeBose-led sci-fi thriller I.S.S. has been picked up by Bleeker Street for a U.S. theatrical release. Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and written by Nick Shafir, the film was produced by Pete Shilaimon, Mickey Liddell. The cast also includes Chris Messina, Pilou Asbæk, John Gallagher Jr., Costa Ronin, and Maria Mashkova.

The soundtrack blends vintage recordings by Donnie & Joe (including the cult favorite “Baby”) with exclusive new performances by Donnie Emerson, Nancy Sophia Emerson, and actor Noah Jupe, plus original score selections by composer Leopold Ross (Black Mirror, A Million Little Pieces).

White Heron Theatre Company of Nantucket will open it's first production of the 2023 summer season, Blithe Spirit, by Noël Coward (Present Laughter, Private Lives) and directed by Skip Greer. Greer returns to Nantucket after directing 2017's Outside Mullingar for White Heron.

Peacock announced that Chris Messina (Sharp Objects, I Care A Lot) will star opposite Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) in the highly-anticipated dark comedic thriller BASED ON A TRUE STORY, from Emmy Award-nominated Craig Rosenberg (The Boys, LOST, Preacher). Old habits die hard. The Echo Theater Company will present a dark comedy about cultural evolution and the selves we thought we knew. Chris Fields directs the world premiere of Babe by Jessica Goldberg, running September 17 through October 24 at the Echo’s home at Atwater Village Theatre.
