Bass Player Antoine Fafard To Release Second Album 'Occultus Tramitis' by BWW News Desk - May 08, 2013
Much to the excitent of music aficionados across the globe, the second solo album by composer and bass player Antoine Fafard, 'Occultus Tramitis', will be released digitally on May 15 and on CD June 1, 2013. Featuring the contributions of a number of jazz-rock legends including Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa), Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra), Gavin Harrison (King Crimson, Porcupine Tree), Scott Henderson (Tribal Tech), Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Toto), Chad Wackerman (Allan Holdsworth, Frank Zappa) and Dave Weckl (Chick Corea, Mike Stern), 'Occultus Tramitis' encompasses 11 tracks presenting almost an hour of exciting new music. Jazz at Lincoln Center honors one of music's most timeless innovators, the fusion pioneer and social humanitarian Chick Corea with the Chick Corea Festival. Corea will be celebrated during JALC's 25th anniversary season with concerts and events in each performance space throughout JALC's home, Frederick P. Rose Hall. The Chick Corea Festival features a command performance by Corea himself with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in Rose Theater on May 16, 17 and 18. (more...)

World-renowned guitarist John McLaughlin, announces his first U.S. tour in three years, set for this June. The tour will begin June 11th in Durham, NC and will hit Asheville, DC, Bethlehem, Boston and a 3-night stand in New York City at the Blue Note before ending in Toronto on June 23rd. McLaughlin and his legendary 4th Dimension band will also make a special appearance at this year's Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 14th. (more...)

Current nominees Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band have been added to join a performance by the Black Keys, in addition to three-time GRAMMY Award winner Stanley Clarke, current nominee Chick Corea and current nominee Kenny Garrett paying tribute to Dave Brubeck, a performance by current nominee Juanes and a joint performance by Travis Barker, Chuck D, two-time GRAMMY Award winner and host LL COOL J, two-time GRAMMY Award winner Tom Morello and DJ Z-Trip, all on THE 55TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS broadcast.
