The Sherman Players return for their first full theatrical season in nearly two years. The 2022 mainstage season was announced at the close of the final production of the 2021 season, WRECK THE HALLS by Sherman Players President, Steve Stott.

On Friday, November 26, The Sherman Playhouse will open its hilarious holiday musical revue, WRECK THE HALLS, written, directed and choreographed by Brad Blake with music direction by Charles Smith. The curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. for a four week run.

As part of its 2021 Fall Saturday Puppet Show Series, the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will present Bugsy and Friends by John McDonough’s Pumpernickel Puppets of Worcester, Massachusetts on Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. ET in Betsy Paterson Square.

On Friday, January 31, 2020, I had the pleasure of seeing SMORGASBORD! at the Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, CT.  This musical revue has music and lyrics by Bradford Blake who is also directs the show.  Under the excellent accompaniment of musical director Charles Smith on keyboard, Charles Casimiro on stand-up bass, and Robert Kogut on percussion, the talented singing cast of Anya Caravella, Robert Geils, Tracey Marble, and Zachery Theis provide a highly entertaining show comprised of song after song, each conveying its own story, without a central storyline, the songs linked only by the consistent pattern of comical food-themed lyrics.

Tantrum Theater, Ohio University's professional theater company, announces an innovative new collaborative partnership with Musical Theatre Factory (MTF), a leading non-profit organization focused on developing bold and inclusive new musicals by early career artists.
