Seattle Musical Theatre is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the American premiere of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, music, lyrics, and book by Richard O'Brien. Due to a scheduling conflict, the producers of THE ELEPHANT MAN have announced that the show will now begin performances on Friday, November 7, 2014, and open on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th St). Tickets are currently on sale to the general public.

Company C Contemporary Ballet founder and Artistic Director Charles Anderson has announced that his 12-year-old Company will undertake a strategic shift its public performance model from a two-program winter and spring season at venues in San Francisco and the East Bay to one driven by artistic projects effective at the close of the current 2014 season in May. The transition has been inspired by Anderson's desire to pursue a variety of artistic and choreographic projects, performances and collaborations without being tied to specific seasonal dates, venues and their attendant requirements. Prior to the discussions of the Company's future direction, founding Executive Director Elizabeth Reed had announced her retirement to the Board effective June 30, 2014 in order to devote more time to her family, and has now made her retirement public. Company C Contemporary Ballet founder and Artistic Director Charles Anderson has announced details of the Company's 2014 season of two programs plus a benefit gala in San Francisco and Walnut Creek with performances January 30 through May 11, 2014, at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and ODC Theater in San Francisco and the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. The 12th season will feature a wide range of the kinds of ballets that have set the barre high for this 14-member Bay Area Company, which will return to New York for its third season there at the Joyce Theater August 9 and 10. Theatricality, precision technique, bravura performance, wit and a flair for the off-beat and innovative will be embodied in world premieres by Anderson, Susan Jaffe, Maurice Causey and Charles Moulton, as well as in the return of repertory favorites by Anderson, Patrick Corbin, Alexandre Proia, Charles Moulton and Yuri Zhukov. This August, The Joyce Theater will present Ballet v6.0, a remarkable festival designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting and are forming their own small companies. From August 6 - 17, some of the country's most exciting young dance companies whose works represents a range of ballet styles from neo classical to contemporary, will be presented as part of this festival at The Joyce. Philein/ZiRu Productions (ZiRu Productions) has announced its fifth anniversary home season to take place this month at ODC. The San Francisco-based company takes seriously its mission to foster collaboration across cultural boundaries, and this year's home season showcases the work of a diverse roster of choreographers from China and the U.S., working within a range of choreographic traditions.
