Westport Country Playhouse and Meryl L. Moss Media Relations, Inc. are partnering to enrich the theater-going experience with a new literary salon series called “Books Worth Talking About!” Launching in June, the program will feature a pre-show discussion with prominent authors followed by a performance of a Playhouse production. The themes of the literary salons and theatrical productions will complement each other. (more...)

Dan Domenech and Tony Award-winning actress and Disney Legend Lea Salonga sang “A Whole New World,” Disney’s ALADDIN's theme, at the latter’s live concert recently held at the Tuacahn Ampitheatre, an outdoor performance space nestled in a verdant valley, and surrounded by towering red rock cliffs. Westport Country Playhouse will host its third annual open house, “Playhouse Community Day,” on Saturday, April 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering a wide variety of family activities, backstage tours, displays and historic artifacts, insight on the upcoming 2012 season and ticket discounts throughout the day. The American Theatre Wing announced today that the recipients of the 2012 Jonathan Larson® Grant are Julianne Wick Davis (Composer) and Dan Collins (Book, Lyrics) for their work on Southern Comfort. The prestigious grant, totaling $10,000, will be presented on Tuesday, March 27 at a private event in New York City. The event will feature special performances from Southern Comfort. (more...)

ELF The Broadway Musical cast performed music from the hit show and cast recording for the "Live at Barnes & Noble" series at the flagship store in New York City today, December 5th. The event featured special performances and a CD signing from cast members Sebastian Arcelus, Amy Spanger, Beth Leavel, Matthew Gumley and Matthew Schechter, along with additional members of the original Broadway cast.
