Peter Asher Returns to Feinstein's at Loews Regency, 6/19-23

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Spring 2012 season with the return engagement of pop music legend Peter Asher and his multimedia show A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond from June 19 through June 23. When the program made its New York debut at Feinsteins last year, it played to packed houses and critical acclaim. The two-time Grammy Award winner for Producer of the Year first rose to international acclaim through the global smash "World Without Love" as one half of the British Invasion duo Peter & Gordon, Peter moved effortlessly to Music Executive with The Beatles' Apple Records, then famously to producer and manager, handling the careers of James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and a host of others. Among his more recent projects is the upcoming Dreamworks movie Madagascar 3: Europes Most Wanted. In addition to producing the soundtrack, he performs the films only original song Love Always Comes As A Surprise, co-written with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, which he will also perform at Feinsteins. Feinstein's at Loews Regency continues its Spring 2012 season with the debut of multi-award winning singer Jennifer Sheehan in her new show I Know A Place. Sheehan and her trio traverse the vast spectrum of music that was the sensational soundtrack of the '60s. Plus, she shares how younger generations are falling in love with these classic songs just as their parents did. Brimming with songs and stories, I Know A Place features music by songwriters such as Burt Bacharach, The Beatles and Antonio Carlos Jobim and songs made famous by Barbra Streisand, Petula Clark, Carole King and more. The New York Youth Symphonys Jazz Band Classic concludes its tenth season on Wednesday, May 23, 2009, at 7:30pm with Sounds From The City, featuring soloist Ann Hampton Callaway at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Under the direction of Matt Holman, director, the group will perform songs from New York City with music by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and Frank Sinatra, as well as a big band salute to Broadway. Goody Goody, the American Classics resident female vocal trio of Valerie Anastasio, Mary Ann Lanier (Somerville) and Heather Peterson, with pianist Robert Humphreville, performs a unique concert saluting the popular girl groups of American popular music, from the jazzy stylings of the Boswell Sisters, the tight harmony of the Andrews Sisters, the 50s sounds of the McGuire Sisters and the Chordettes, and the classic ensembles of the 60s with the Shirelles and the Supremes, through to the Roches and solo singers like Carole King. Featured hit songs include Bei Mir Bist Du Schön, Lollipop, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?, Ill Be With You in Apple Blossom Time, On the Atcheson, Topeka, and the Santa Fe, and Baby Love. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced an additional presenter and some artists who will perform at the 2012 inductions. The 27th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Saturday, April 14 in Cleveland and debut Saturday, May 5 (9:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO.
