TheatreLAB, Richmond's home for unexpected & evocative performance, is proud to announce the second offering from their 2014/2015 season: Oblivion by Carly Mensch. In this regional premiere production of Oblivion, directed by Jeffrey Cole, we meet Uber-hip Brooklynite parents, Pam (Kimberly Jones Clark) and Dixon (Joe Pabst), who take great pride in their progressive approach to parenting…however, when their 17-year-old daughter, Julie (Zoe Cotzias), repeatedly lies about where she spent the weekend, their cool, high-brow facade crashes and burns. With the help of her friend Bernard (Joseph Nelson), Julie must discover if her new fascination with Christianity after her weekend trip to Church Camp will break her family's dynamic. TheatreLAB is proud to present Oblivion in The Basement as part of the 2015 Acts of Faith Festival from tonight, February 20th through March 7th.

A Contemporary Theatre announces the remainder of its 2014 Season with a plethora of Mainstage and Central Heating Lab shows. The Mainstage welcomes two major players from the national scene with a new work from Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Ayad Ahktar who has penned a riveting drama about the overlapping worlds of terrorism and the financial markets called The Invisible Hand. Akhtar's thriller is followed by Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike which throws classic Chekhov characters in a modern family blender.

Ars Nova is now accepting applications for Play Group, a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback. The group offers members the chance to develop their plays with peer support; to be inspired by each other's work; to form collaborative relationships; and to build a strong sense of community within Ars Nova. All emerging playwrights are eligible for membership. If selected, new members will be invited to join for a period of two years beginning in January of 2015.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the line-up for the ninth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 26 - August 24, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2014 includes: Ironbound by Martyna Majok, Hushabye by Tanya Saracho and Okay, Bye by Joshua Conkel. The 2014 festival also features readings of two new plays, American Beauty Shop by Dana Lynn Formby and Opium Den by Julie Marie Myatt.
