Shakespeare on the Sound to Stage AS YOU LIKE IT, 6/13-30

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan. (more...)

The stars of Off-Broadway's hit comedy HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER performed live for THE RIDE on May 8th in Times Square. As the giant tour bus approached the Lyceum Theatre on 45th Street, it stopped in front of HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER's Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle clad in elderly garb on the sidewalk. To the delight of the passengers, they performed the opening sketch of the show in which two altkakas bitterly (and hilariously) complain about a bygone New York City before gentrification wiped out all the fun. The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center present FREUD'S LAST SESSION, New York's long-running hit play by Mark St. Germain, is set to open in Los Angeles tonight starring Judd Hirsch as Sigmund Freudand Tom Cavanagh as C. S. Lewis under the direction of Tyler Marchant, who helmed the original New York production. Presented by The Broad Stage and CRC Productions, FREUD'S LAST SESSION played preview performances January 11(th) through January 15(th).
