The Town Hall Presents BROADWAY BY THE YEAR Featuring Howard McGillin, Lisa Brescia & More, 6/3

The Town Hall is proud to announce the season finale of Broadway by the Year featuring The Broadway Musicals of 1988, includingThe Phantom of the Opera, Chess, Legs Diamond, Romance Romance, Carrie, and More! Scott Siegel, the creator, writer, and host of Broadway by the Year has selected a half dozen performers to star in the concert, including Howard McGillin, who holds the record for playing 'The Phantom' longer than any other actor in Broadway history. He will be joined by one of his Christines, Jennifer Hope Wills. Drama Desk Nominees Farah Alvin (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and Kevin Earley (Death Takes a Holiday) return toBroadway by the Year. Lisa Brescia, who starred on Broadway in Twyla Tharp's The Times They Are A-Changin', as Elphaba in Wicked, and as Donna in Mamma Mia! makes her Broadway by the Year debut and favorite Scott Coulter will direct and star in the concert. The cast will be joined by the Broadway by the Year Chorus. (more...)

Summertime Entertainment has inked a deal with Clarius Entertainment for a wide theatrical release, with significant prints & advertising support in the U.S. and Canada, for the 3-D animated musical film "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return." The release date will be slated for 1stquarter of 2014. As part of the pact, Home Entertainment will be provided by a major studio partner, with sub-distribution rights handled by others. The company is beginning discussions for international distribution for the film, which had a prior working title "Dorothy of Oz." (more...)

Two-time Tony Nominee Christine Andreas, Tony Nominee Emily Skinner, Drama Desk Nominees Kerry O'Malley and Jeffry Denman, and two-time Nightlife Award Winner Scott Coulter will star in The Broadway Musicals of 1961 at Town Hall on Monday, March 11th at 8 PM. The critically-acclaimed new Broadway by the Year Chorus will join them in performing songs from Carnival, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Subways Are For Sleeping, Sail Away, Milk and Honey, and more! The concert will be directed and choreographed by Jeffry Denman; the Broadway by the Year Chorus is under the direction of Scott Coulter; musical direction will be by Ross Patterson.
