Hugh Grant will voice the lead role alongside an all-star cast in The Pirates! Band of Misfits, the new stop-motion, 3D, animated film produced by Aardman Animations for Sony Pictures Animation. The Royal Shakespeare Company has confirmed that MATILDA, A MUSICAL will begin performances this November at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. The show will run from November 9th through January 2011 under the direction of Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus, with book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. (more...)

In a rather unusual pairing, stage a screen star Paul O'Grady and former Bay Watch babe Pamela Anderson will be sharing the role of Genie in a pantomime production of Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre. The prouction will run December 4 - January 10. Stage veteran Brian Blessed will play the evil Abanazar. New Wimbledon Theatre and First Family Entertainment are producing the Christmas spectacular. As previously reported, the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) confirmed on Tuesday that it had completed the purchase of Live Nation's UK Theatres (excluding their one third share of The Dominion Theatre). The acquisition is the most significant development in ATG's 17 year history. (more...)
