Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch will be performing swinging standards at the legendary Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel every Sunday in June from 9pm 12 midnight. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the open mic Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. Artistic Director Kent Thompson continues the companys tradition of presenting new work with two world premieres that were read as part of the 2012 Colorado New Play Summit as well as a family production. From an Alexandre Dumas classic to an August Wilson favorite and from an explosive Broadway hit to a one-man show. Says Kent Thompson, Although I dont pick seasons based upon a theme, 2012/13 is clearly about love and marriage the thwarted love of Romeo and Juliet, the comic upset of discovering youve not been legally married for the past 25 years (!), the discovery that your dead husband may have loved another woman, and the hard-fought but lost love of DArtagnan.
