The Providence premiere of MARY POPPINS opens tonight, Thursday, February 9 at the Providence Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement of 2 weeks through Sunday, February 19. MARY POPPINS plays Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7PM, Thursday and Friday evenings at 7PM, Saturday evenings at 8PM, Sunday evenings at 6:30PM, and Saturday matinees at 2PM and Sunday matinees at 1PM with an additional performance on Thursday, February 16 at 2PM. Spotlights will race across the sky, ticket holders will arrive on a red carpet, and the celebration of the Broward Center's 20th anniversary year will be launched Wednesday, October 6, at 8 P.M. with the season premiere of THE NEW MEL BROOKS MUSICAL YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN marking the first salvo of the excitingly diverse 2010 2011 Broadway Across America-Fort Lauderdale 8-musical theatrical season, presented by the Florida Theatrical Association at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

"In Fields Where They Lay" by Ricardo Perez Gonzalez, developed by Brad Raimondo, is a new play about the Christmas Truce in World War I. It's a portrait of a squad of front-line British soldiers who, with their German counterparts, shook hands, shared cigarettes and sang Christmas carols together in the brief, precious interruption in fighting that occurred on December 24 and 25, 1914. The Dreamscape Theatre will present the debut production December 11 to January 2 at Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th Street, directed by Dreamscape's Producing Artistic Director, Brad Raimondo.
