ABC & ESPN to Exclusively Air 2013 NBA Western Conference Finals by TV News Desk - May 18, 2013
ABC and ESPN will combine to exclusively televise the 2013 NBA Western Conference Finals - San Antonio Spurs and four-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan vs. Memphis Grizzlies and Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol - beginning with Game 1 on Sunday, May 19, on ABC at 3:30 p.m. ET. Remaining Western Conference Finals games will air on ESPN at 9 p.m. Mike Breen will serve as the voice of the Western Conference Finals with reporter Doris Burke and analyst Hubie Brown (Game 1) and Jeff Van Gundy (Game 2 through remainder of series). All games will also be available on ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes and WatchESPN. The Finals on ABC will begin Thursday, June 6. (more...)

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis Opens 4000 MILES, 5/9 by BWW News Desk - Apr 24, 2013
The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the Indiana Premiere of the newest play by Amy Herzog, 4000 Miles in the Frank and Katrina Basile Theatre. Opening Thursday, May 9, and running through Sunday, June 9, 2013, the play is a skillful joining of loose ends. The dangling threads in this case are Leo, a scruffy cyclist trying to find his bearings after a cross-country road trip, and Vera, a crotchety lefty teetering on the brink of infirmity in a rent-controlled apartment in Greenwich Village. In the end, Leo and Vera endear themselves to the audience in much the same way that they grow on each other. (more...)

Lenny Clarke Set to Visit Comix At Foxwoods Beginning March 28 by BWW News Desk - Jan 24, 2013
Best known for both his role as Uncle Teddy on FX's hit series, "Rescue Me," and his thick Boston accent, Lenny Clarke will visit the Comix At Foxwoods stage for four shows this March with performances Thursday, Mar. 28 at 8 p.m. and Friday, Mar. 29 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 30 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The final show will be one not for the faint of heart or easily offended, as fans will be welcomed to witness a "Nasty Show with Lenny Clarke." ABC & ESPN Team Up to Present All Christmas Day NBA Games by TV News Desk - Dec 17, 2012
ABC and ESPN will combine to present all five NBA Christmas Day Games, Tuesday, December 25. The blockbuster schedule is highlighted by ABC's first two NBA broadcasts of the season. The doubleheader will begin with the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant hosting the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony at 3 p.m. ET, followed by an NBA Finals rematch with the Miami Heat, led by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kevin Durant at 5:30 p.m. Mike Tirico and analyst Hubie Brown will call the Finals rematch with Lisa Salters reporting. KIA NBA Countdown will precede the ABC doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. with Magic Johnson, Bill Simmons, Jalen Rose and Michael Wilbon. (more...)

ESPN Films has announced the return this fall of the Emmy-nominated documentary series 30 for 30, and is also expanding the brand to include a 30-part digital short film series. 30 for 30 Shorts will be a collaboration with Bill Simmons' Grantland.com and will be similar to the feature-length films in that each piece will represent a specific point of view of the filmmaker and will be a reflection of how they blend the narrative with their own visual style.
