Will Rothhaar to Play Lee Harvey Oswald in National Geographic's KILLING KENNEDY

National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) today announced that up-and-coming actor Will Rothhaar (@Poetiqrothhaar) has been cast as the volatile former Marine and assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming two-hour original factual drama Killing Kennedy by Scott Free Productions. Rothhaar is the final of the four major players in the film to be announced, joining Rob Lowe (John F. Kennedy), Ginnifer Goodwin (Jacqueline Kennedy) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Marina Oswald). Stefanie Powers is a trouper who stepped into the role of Tallulah Bankhead, which was originated by Valerie Harper, when Harper's untimely diagnosis of brain cancer forced her to withdraw from the national tour of LOOPED. Although the circumstances are bittersweet, Powers' performance is informed by her working and personal relationship with the film legend. Playwright Matthew Lombardo goes to great lengths to show and tell as much detail about Bankhead as possible in the limited span of this one long afternoon in the waning months of her life. (more...)

La Jolla Playhouse will bring back the hilarious The Second City for a return engagement March 20 - 23, 2013 in the Playhouse's specially-designed cabaret-style performance space in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. Created by the Playhouse's scene shop artisans for the theatre's 2011, 2012 and 2013 Galas, this unique cabaret-style venue features a 1920s 'supper club' atmosphere, with multi-level platforms and custom banquettes. The musical, with book by Kate Feiffer and MJ Bruder Munafo, music by Paul Jacobs, lyrics by Sarah Durkee, is based on the acclaimed picture book MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, by Kate Feiffer with illustrations by Diane Goode (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books).
