Primary Stages has announced the launch of OFF CENTER: THE OFF-BROADWAY ORAL HISTORY PROJECT.

The Off-Broadway Oral History Project was created to fill a gap in theater history by establishing a video archive featuring the innovative artists who transformed Off- and Off-Off-Broadway in the years after World War II.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell will present the World Premiere of STOOPDREAMER, a new drama about the lingering effects of gentrification, by Pat Fenton. Featuring an immersive staging by director Kira Simring, previews begin September 4 with opening slated for Thursday, September 10 as part of Origin's 1st Irish Theater Festival 2015. NOTE: this limited engagement is produced on an Off-Broadway contract.

This year is no exception with 886 one-act scripts totaling 21,264 pages which were read by 17 readers over 5 months. From that, Ensemble Studio Theatre artistic director William Carden selected 10 plays this spring to be presented on two separate programs for the Ensemble Studio Theatre's 2010 Marathon of One-Act Plays May 24 through June 26.
